Plain English Bespoke Cabinetry in Los Angeles
In May 2024, PLAIN ENGLISH DESIGN opened at 930 N. La Cienega Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA. This new location joined our New York showroom on East 10th Street, opened in 2018, as our second standalone US location.
Founded in Suffolk, England in 1992, Plain English continues to set the benchmark for cabinetry made the old-fashioned way – by hand. Inspired by classic British interiors, our custom designs are suited for the kitchen and beyond: including Pantries, Mudrooms, Butlers Pantries, Sculleries, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Dressing Rooms, Laundry Rooms, Libraries, Home Offices, Bars and Poolhouses.
We are a Design Studio, sharing our sensibility and craft to deliver the refinement and expertise for which we are known. Attention to detail defines How We Work: we offer exclusive paint colours, hand-cast ironmongery, and finishes such as our Delft Tiles that distinguish a Plain English project.
We welcome visits and projects from individual clients, as well as architects, interior designers, and contractors, working together from concept through to installation; from start to finish.

Located on La Cienega Boulevard, our sunny space in West Hollywood showcases bespoke joinery fit for any room – the Kitchen, Pantry, Dining Room, Scullery, Wine Room, Bathroom, and Office. Our quintessential freestanding furniture is on display, such as our Worktable, Larders, Bath Dresser, and Dresser Top. Bold paint from our latest Colour Collection 5 transforms and envelopes the rooms in vibrant blues and quiet neutrals.
