Park House
A kitchen collaboration with Brandon Schubert for a full renovation of this Victorian North London, family home. The basement enjoys a rear extension to the cosy breakfast and dining area with double doors opening into the garden. Reusing the sash window to continue the original charm and character throughout in combination with the overhead skylight for an open and airy feel. In contrast, the main kitchen area is hand painted in a sumptuous and deep chocolate color. On one side, a wall in vertical teak wood boarding accented with a pair of matching shelves exhibits a mini cocktail bar and complementary objects. Eye level ovens and wine storage beside a characterful granite worktop with moss and lichen tones, sits on top of Long House cupboards with Combs doors, accessed with hand forged, iron, Weymouth handles. The opposite wall features a tall bank of cupboards concealing an integrated fridge and freezer alongside a generous double larder and crockery cupboard, all cohesively balanced within the space.
Central to the kitchen is a raised island with stool nooks for family breakfasts and home crafting with wide shelves for family cookbooks. A flush fitting hob with downdraft extractor keeps eye level free for a pair of wonderful pendant lights in marmalade coloured glass, while deep drawers provide copious storage for pots, pans and cooking utensils.
