Norfolk Flint House

A family home in the heart of the English countryside; extended over time, combining both Georgian and Victorian architecture alongside a sympathetically designed side extension, embracing the Norfolk flint exterior wall and creating a spacious kitchen and walk-in pantry. As the home of a passionate cook, a downdraft extractor was an essential element of the design, incorporated into the central Osea Island and ducted for efficiency to the outside. Generously proportioned pan-drawers below and to each side of the hobs, are perfectly positioned for pans, serving dishes and utensils. While a custom designed, Oak topped table is incorporated within the island for family suppers and morning coffee.   

A spacious double sink, crafted in marble, sits within the Bianca Eclipsia worktop, its greying tones complimenting perfectly the limewashed flint wall behind, punctuated only with a single counter standing cupboard painted in ‘Mouldy Plum’ and accented with Tourmaline cup handles and latches.   

A tall run of Spitalfields cupboards, hand painted in the same ‘Mouldy Plum’, houses the ovens, warming drawer, integrated fridge and freezer as well as cleverly concealing a television. To the side, a walk-in pantry provides a separate space for coffee making, mixing and serving drinks with essential snack storage below.  

The adjacent bootroom welcomes as you enter from the rear of the house, with a bench seat for pulling walking boots on or off and coat pegs above. There is room for muddy dogs and their beds, plenty of cupboard space for coats, pull-out trays for shoes as well as cupboards for summer games paraphernalia. A top row of cupboards is accessed by a ladder and rail, perfect for out of season storage.
