West Sussex Manor House Wardrobes
Upstairs, the dressing room turns function into ritual. PLAIN ENGLISH wardrobes form the grounded, understated backdrop; against them, sketches, drawings, and swatches of colour are collaged and pinned, so the room works as much like a studio as a wardrobe. The doors and drawers hold the everyday costume of getting dressed – classic in frame, but never quite finished, always leaving room for the next idea.
‘I like a house with beautiful manners and a filthy sense of humour. Strip it back to the bone, celebrate every imperfection – then kick off your heels and sprinkle it with gold.’
The project is featured in a short House & Garden – Design Notes film.
