Handcrafted Kitchens
The care and attention to detail the Shakers devoted to their work reinforced our aim not to compromise on quality. We decided to forego modern gadgetry and simply rely on joinery methods that have withstood the test of time (Katie Fontana, Creative Director)Plain English’s bespoke, handcrafted kitchens are made by skilled joiners in Suffolk who have been trained in the techniques of 18th and 19th century cabinet making. Drawers are dovetailed and made by hand for each cupboard and plinths are an integral part of the frame. Every hand painted kitchen gets three coats of paint in our workshop prior to installation and then a further coat is applied, also by hand, once the kitchen has been fitted on site.
